We made it!

We have safely arrived in Denver! After spending Monday night in Dublin, OH - we grabbed a quick free breakfast (obviously a requirement wherever I go!) in the lobby and were on the the road by 8:30 to head to my birth town, St. Louis.

Of course I was driving first- so naturally the weather looked like this:

Luckily it blew over by the time we reached Indiana so Wes could sharpen his photography skills.

We stopped for lunch somewhere in Indiana or Illinois... They look the same. Corn fields everywhere. We chose a Sonic, naturally. You can't beat tots and a cranberry lime aid!

We ate lunch at about 1, but then shortly after we traveled into central time.... Which pushed the clocks back and hour. This was very confusing for us East coasters - neither of us have ever really driven through time zone changes... We felt like we were in the DeLorean and Doc was sending us back in time. This gave us a solid hour of pondering it. Conversations went something like this-

So, if I live in this town, but it's on the border of a time zone change, how does that work? Can I have an appointment at the same time in both places???

The Andrew's girls went to school in a different time zone... So it would take them 3 hours to drive home but they would get there in 2 hrs???

Luckily this conversation took up a lot of time, and before we knew it we were crossing the Missouri border into the home of the Cardinals!

The gateway to the West!!

Go Cards!!

When we got to Bomma's house there was a tornado watch. So we unpacked the rooftop carrier- only for the sun to come out an hour later. We were just thankful not to experience one of these crazy tornadoes that have been passing through the midwest!

The Andrews stopped by after dinner to say hello. It was great to catch up with them and Nellie made some delicious cookies that Wes consumed in about 10 minutes.

We had such a fun time with Bomma, and she sent us to Colorado with 3 loaves of cinnamon bread and some of our favorite sugar cookies.

Wes doing the "Erich lean" outside the house... He has yet to fully master it... In due time...,

We left St. Louis around 8 AM and spent the majority of the day in boring Kansas.

I will never be worried about a shortage of corn after driving through there. We stopped in a town called Hays - spelled withOUT and E!

We made it to Colorado around 6... And this is where all of my credibility for photography went right out the window.

That picture should have looked something like this: http://0.tqn.com/d/geography/1/0/x/D/co1.JPG

We made it to Denver around 8:30- just in time to catch the last bit of the sunset behind the mountains. We arrived at Magoo & Boggie's house and were happy to finally make it to our new home state!

Now its onto meet our landlord to see our new place for the first time! Fingers crossed it isn't a total dump!!
