Sarah gave me a fortune last night which has been guiding us on the journey. Normally those fortunes don't mean much, but this one hit home for the Hays'

Packed to the brim. We could barely see out the windows.

1818 miles to Denver!

We missed the NY sign since it was only a mile from my parents house and I was still trying to unearth the camera. Can you tell who was the passenger when we went through PA and then OH? I'll give you a hint- I have taken a digital photography class... And Wes has not...

(if you couldn't figure it out- the picture above is the very bottom of the welcome to Ohio sign!)
Wes drove the first leg which- lucky for him- I spent the majority of the time crying like a baby because I was sad to leave family and friends. I wouldn't say this was Wes' favorite part of the trip... And he probably would have traded me for a hitchhiker had we passed one. good thing I packed those tissues!
Once I pulled myself together, I took over near Pittsburgh... So Wes could make fun of all of the Steelers fans driving by. Of course it started raining the minute I started driving. And I took a wrong turn. My luck!
We made it to Dublin at 7:45, making our journey 9 hrs and 15 minutes. 601 miles down. 1200-something to go. We counted 15 different states of license plates, 13 dead deer, sadly only 1 Allied truck (pretty sure it wasn't ours!); stopped at 3 bathrooms (one I will certainly never return to again); went through 2 toll booths (1 was because we took a wrong turn).
Onto St. Louis tomorrow to see Bomma and stay in Kirkwood for the night. We are looking forward to some Steak & Shake and Cinnamon Bread!
