Back East

Before I start this next post- which is now ancient news- I have to apologize for my serious lack of blogging in the past few weeks. Between traveling, guests in town & starting a new job- somehow the blog got put on the back burner. This queen of procrastination is making a statement now: that this will be the first and last time the blog goes nearly 3 weeks without an update. Pathetic.

We were back east for 2 weddings, some family visits, and to take care of some loose ends we didn't finish before we left. The whole week was a blast- despite the humidity. Yes, we have only lived in Denver for a little over a month, and we were complaining the whole time about the ridiculous humidity. We are spoiled.

First stop: Newport, RI for Kate & Alan's wedding!

The wedding party at the rehearsal dinner.

We also got to see Chuck which was exciting!!

This was after a bet about who could make it on stage first. Sarah won. First for everything.

The wedding was beautiful. Kate and Alan looked amazing... and I'm pretty sure Kate beat me for the calmest bride ever. Everything came together beautifully and we couldn't have asked for a better day. Kate wore my veil which was so fun for me... except for the part when we forgot it at home on the way to the church. A little phone call to Kate's parents from the trolley "DAD, TURN AROUND NOW"- worked out just fine.

They had Del's frozen lemonade waiting for us after the ceremony! I managed to spill some on myself... which was actually an improvement from Becky's wedding when I poured an entire bottle of champagne on my lovely bridesmaid dress after the ceremony.

The Yicks!

The ring bearers & flower girls were ADORABLE..

The view of the Newport Bridge from the reception...

UCONN... HUSKIES!

Congratulations to the Yicks!! Next stop Ridgefield..
