Happy 4th of July!

Happy Belated 4th of July!

We started the 4th celebrations early on Sunday night by going to the Denver Outlaws game. They are the local professional lacrosse team - one of the many pro sports teams Denver has. I think this city has nearly every sport team you can think of - Baseball, Football, Basketball, Hockey, Lacrosse, Soccer. The best part is that all of their stadiums are within 5 minutes of each other - and they are all downtown!

We drove down to University of Denver (less than 10 minutes from us) and hopped on the light rail. It goes directly to all of the stadiums- and to LoDo - Denver's hip downtown area. We decided to grab dinner in LoDo first and then headed over to Invesco.

Of course Wes was hating on the Broncos... That's fine. I'm pretty sure Flacco won't be getting a sign like this at the Raven's Stadium... Go #7!

There were 27,000 people at the lacrosse game - a HUGE turn out. They were playing Boston- who was ranked 1st - and Denver ended up losing 13-11 in the last few minutes. We got to see Paul Rabil play- who is supposedly one of the best players out there now. He was awesome to watch play- even though he kind of looks like a neanderthal.

After the game they had an awesome fireworks show.  Probably one of the best fireworks shows I have seen. It ended up being a great way to celebrate the 4th!

Monday we headed up to Boulder to the Boulder CC pool party to hang out with the Erich's. It was hot- I think high 90's - so we were very thankful to be by a pool. Wes got to do some swim training with extra weights...

Amelia lost her first tooth which was very exciting.

There was a beer dive, best diving trick contest, and belly flop contest. The most entertaining was definitely the flop contest. This guy won it all...

But I still think this contestant should have won...

It was a fun day at the pool - and fun to hang out with the Erich's. Wes told me he was going to shave his beard when we got home. FINALLY!

And then after running a few errands, I came home to this:
I told him I was going to grow a unibrow if he kept that Mario-brothers-moustache. I was thankful that he took that statement seriously and later shaved it off.

This week we are just continuing to organize, explore, and unpack. Hopefully I will have something a bit more interesting than Wes' facial hair updates later this week!!
