Next Friday we will close on our new house. Which is still more than a little surreal. Katie and I started looking at houses more than two years ago and we've finally found the one. We've had deals fall through, bidding wars, and lots of disappointment. But in the end those experiences were one of the main catalysts for us to uproot and get to where we wanted to be - Colorado - so no complaints!
When we first moved to Denver we started looking at homes so we could learn the market here, figure out the neighborhoods and sort out where we wanted to live. And learn we did. We had a couple false starts with less than ideal real estate agents but finally found the right person and within a month found the right house.
It was truly love at first sight. We have seen lots of creatively photographed listings over the years and we were so hopeful that the listing accurately portrayed what we would find inside. For the first time that I can remember, the actual house exceeded our expectations. We saw the listing on a Friday, saw the house on Sunday, and made our offer on Monday. Negotiations were quick and to the point and we had a contract in place by Tuesday morning. (Side note: all of the paperwork here is electronic and can be done via email so the process was insanely quick!)
There have been a few bumps in the road along the way as we move towards closing but nothing we haven't been able to sort out yet. Fingers crossed that there are no more obstacles in the last 7 days.
Everyone is more than welcome (and encouraged!) to come visit!!!
